《A New Earth》

  《A New Earth》

  ●because of Oprah

  ●defense mechanism

  ●感觉比the power of now写得好

  《A New Earth》读后感(一):读完 A New Earth

但是,caution,正如我在《eat,pray,love》书评里和与豆友for1moreday在豆邮中说到过的一样,since the book is soooo good, it‘s actually kills some of my opportunities to find out about life by myself, Tolle did this for us, and as we reading his book, absorb his words and ideas, we let him to be the person to search whatever we want to find out for us.

On the other hand,我不得不承认, I may only have one second of the stillness and peaceful moment he mentioned in the book and being unaware most of my lifetime if I hadn't read his book. So, still, I am very thankful for getting this book.

  《A New Earth》读后感(二):living in now

I have already read this book twice, it means I really love this book. Every time I read a book, I cannot form a logical system about the content in my mind. It makes me feel that I still have large development space of the ability of logical thinking. Even though I learned a lot from Eckhart Tolle, not only in the “A New Earth” also in his another book “The Power Of Now”.

The main point in those two books is living in now, out of unconscious. In the last year, I graduated from colleague, did four jobs, my confession about life was ever strong. I could not wait to achieve future, seems in future I would be better. The fear of unseeing future, the stress of work, the thought of achievement filled my whole mind. Sometime I lay in my bed, indulged in thought and failed to sleep all night. My life was in a hurry, harried to get some better future. But future may be worse, the only moment I can control is now.

If you want to know how to live in now fully, out of your unconscious being a conscious, you can try to read his books, it is very wonderful and helpful.

《A New Earth》读后感(三):As long as I live for myself

A new earth 无非是一个譬喻, 作者真正想谈的是我们的 inner space,论述的根源源自于这样一个问题:who I am? (who you are?

Ego 是the current state of humanity, 最终是要打破限制 (breaking free)去发现a new earth的。

唯有go beyond ego, 寻找到你的 identity 才能收获 the joy of being.

eing must be felt, it can't be thought.

  《A New Earth》

If the history of humanity were the clinical case history of a single human being, the diagnosis would have to be chronic paranoid delusions, a pathological propensity to commit murder and acts of extreme violence and cruelty against his perceived enemies - his own unconsciousness projected outward. Criminally insane, with a few brief lucid intervals.

thinking without awareness is the main dilemma of human existence

how you are seen by others becomes the mirror that tells you what you are like and who you are. the Ego's sense of self-worth is in most cases.

how you are seen by others becomes the mirror that tells you what you are like and who you are.

what is commonly called "falling in love" is in most cases an intensification of ego wanting and needing. You become addicted to another person, or rather to your image of that person. it has nothing to do with true love, which contains no wanting whatsoever.

the primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.

The stronger the ego in you, the more likely it is what in your perception other people are the main source of problems in your life.

othing ever happened in the past that can prevent you from being present now; and if the past cannot prevent you from being present now, what power does it have?

whenever you get taken over the by the pain-body, whenever you don't recognize it for what it is, it becomes part of your ego.

It is not the pain body but the identification with the pain-body that forces you to relive the past again and again and keeps you in a state of unconsciousness.

what are the things that upset and disturb me? if small things have the power to disturb you, then who you think you are is exactly that: small.

what are the small things? ultimately all things are small things because all things are transient.

whatever you think the world is withholding from you, you are withholding from the world.

onresistance, nonjudgement, and non attachment are the three aspects of true freedom and enlighten living.

Greatness is a mental abstraction and a favorite fantasy of the ego.

the paradox is that the foundation for greatness is honoring the small things of the present moment instead of pursuing the idea of greatness.

The great arises out of small things that are honored and cared for. Everybody's life really consists of small things.

On the new earth, enjoyment will replace wanting as the motivating power behind people's actions.

Enthusiasm means there is deep enjoyment in what you do plus the added element of a goal or a vision that you work toward.

Enjoyment of what you are doing, combined with a goal or vision that you work toward, becomes enthusiasm. Even though you have a goal, what you are doing in that present moment needs to remain the focal point of your attention; otherwise, you will fall out of alignment with universal purpose. Make sure your vision or goal is not an inflated image of yourself and therefore a concealed form of ego, such as wanting to become a movie star, a famous writer, or a wealthy entrepreneur. Also make sure your goal is not focused on having this or that, such as mansion by the sea, your own company, or ten million dollars in the bank.

in this way, they endow the seemingly insignificant with profound meaning. Their task is to bring spacious stillness into this world by being absolutely present in whatever they do. There is consciousness and therefore quality in what they do, even the simplest task. Their purpose is to do everything in a sacred manner. As each human being is an integral part of the collective human consciousness, they affect the world much more deeply than is visible on the surface of their lives

Heaven is right here in the midst of you.
