Romeo and Juliet

  《Romeo and Juliet》

●ARDEN EDITION. EDITED BY BRIAN GIBBONS

●Romeo and Juliet moves us because we hope to feel the love that these two feel, but it stays with us because we're jarred by the poignancy of their failure and loss.

●they r lucky that they can embrace in deadly silence, and i ,walking in the vacuum, only embrace the air

  ●Live and prosper!

《Romeo and Juliet》读后感(一):parting is such sweet sorrow

o lucky the are, for embrace in deadly silence

And i ,walking in the vacuum, only embrace the air

ut Juliet said, like that--"parting is such sweet sorrow"

  O live--or die,cannot separate truly lovers

  ut distance can do

  eati misericordes;beati mundo corde!

Labïa mëa aperies;et os meum annuntabit laudem tuam!

Labïa mëa aperies;et os meum annuntabit laudem tuam!

  《Romeo and Juliet》

《Romeo and Juliet》读后感(三):Not the Perfect as We thought

Young men's love then lies not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes." Therefore love moderately, long love doth so; Too swift arrives as tardy as too slow."

  《Romeo and Juliet》读后感(四):Romeo and Juliet

The night was just giving way to morning as the Prince said his last words to them:

A glooming peace this morning with it brings.

The sun for sorrow will not show his head.

  Go hence,to have more talk of these sad things;

ome shall be pardoned, and some punishéd.

For never was a story of more woe

Than this, of Juliet and her Romeo.

《Romeo and Juliet》读后感(五):Romeo does not truly loves Juliet

The world is turning upside down, especially when new addictions arrive into play. The tragedy of “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare, is presumably the most well known love story being pass down from centuries to centuries. The heirs of two feuding families fall in love with each other. Against all odds, their love grows, overcoming many obstacles: secrecy, banishment, betrayal, and death. In the story Romeo expressed his love in a way of extremeness to Juliet. From my perspective I am fully convinced the “love” between Romeo and Juliet was an obsession rather than true love. Obsessive love addiction are those who were a person cannot survive without a mate in their life, they jump from relationship to relationship. Romeo once deeply loved Rosaline, merely only a talk with Juliet during their first meet, he fell in love with her and completely forgot about the girl he loved and cried before the appearance of Juliet. The person will also always emotionally detached form self and remove themselves form supporting members. In the beginning of the play Romeo was in a deep depression, he isolated himself with relatives and friend. A person fell in an obsession will put up with anything to stay in relationship including the abuse of physical. During the banishment of Romeo he has considered the action of suicide.

At the beginning of the story Romeo was certainly in love with Rosaline. He locked himself in his bedroom with absolutely no light and refused to communicate with anyone, detached himself from the supporting member. Benvolio tried to persuade him to get over with it, told his cousin Benvolio “A right good mark-man! and she’s fair I love”. He stated that the woman he loves is beautiful, he believes he was completely fell in love. Instead of considering Romeo was “in love” with Rosaline, it was more likely to say that Romeo was infatuated with her, due to the beauty of looks. But Romeo threw away his love for Rosaline at the very moment he meets Juliet, another beautiful woman. He described Juliet’s beauty very often in the story, for example“ O, she doth teach the torches to turn bright! It seems she hang upon the cheek of night like a rich jewel in an Ethiope’s esr; Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear! So shows a snowy dove trooping with crows, as yonder lady o’er her fellows shows. The measure done, I’ll watch her place of stand, and l touching hers, make blessed my rude hand, did my hearty love till now? For swear it, sight! For I ne’er saw true beauty till this night.” It’s interesting to suggest that Romeo was never really in love with Rosaline. Consequently, would he do the same with Juliet? This quote proved Romeo’s desire for Juliet is nothing more than pointless obsession. Through this quote we can also see Romeo is just a playboy who wants to accomplish his desire for beauties.

A person who’s in obsession with someone will do anything to keep the relationship continues. Romeo in the story once made up a mind to suicide “How oft when men are at the point of death have they been merry, which their keepers call a lightning before death! Oh, how may I call this a lightning? —O my love, my wife! Death, that hath sucked the honey of thy breath, Hath had no power yet upon thy beauty.” Now, death became an act of love for Romeo, because he deems that suicide will enable him to be with Juliet. The reaction of Romeo was very extreme, it’s just more obvious that Romeo was infatuate with Juliet than true love. If Romeo were truly in love with Juliet he would not commit the action of suicide. Romeo has the inability in being alone and self-harming abuse of mental, these are typical symptoms of obsessive love disorder.

The story of Romeo and Juliet is used by society to represent “true love”, but the “love” between the two isn’t true. They were obsessed with each other in a way presented their action of immature and reckless. They were madly in love, rushed to be together, ended with death and broken hearts. It is an unhealthy relationship to maintain and begin. I believe that Romeo and Juliet were just infatuated with each other considering the way that Romeo quickly forgot about Rosaline when he saw how pretty Juliet was. The Infatuation between Romeo and Juliet was ironic, that they would use death to prove that they were “in love”. Life is a priceless treasure that your parents gave to you, love does not worth you to pay with your life.
