农历五月初五，是我国传统的端午节，又称端阳、重五、端五节。早在周朝，就有“五月五日，蓄兰而沐”的习俗。但今天端午节的众多活动都与我国著名的历史人物屈原有关。这一天，家家户户都要吃粽子，南方各地举行龙舟大赛。同时，端午节也是自古相传的“卫生节”，人们在这一天洒扫庭院，挂艾枝，悬菖蒲，洒雄黄水，饮雄黄酒，激清除腐，杀菌防病。这些活动也反映了我们民族的优良传统。
端午节虽然是我们的传统节日，但是在长期的文化交流中已经逐渐地融入邻近国家的文化中，已经具有了独特的生命力和特点———在新加坡，每年端午节举行的国际龙舟邀请赛早就闻名于世;在韩国，端午节还被称为车轮节，是插秧结束后祈求丰年的日子……

外婆去采买制作茶叶蛋的原材料，她总觉得过节要吃自己家做的东西，我心中有一种说不出的激动，却想不起是为什么事了。
外婆宣布：这次由我来尝试做一回茶叶蛋！
我接到命令立即采取行动。
我取了一个蛋将它放进锅里，在加一些水，小心翼翼地比划着，怕水加多了，或水又少了。就这样一下加水一下又减水，耽误了许多时间。
终于点着了火，我盖上锅盖，心神不宁，在厨房里走来走去，生怕蛋要飞走。
“嘭”，我闻声飞奔，原来是锅里的蛋爆了，我关上火。

记得那时因为爸爸妈妈都有事，我妈妈便把我托付给了外婆。一到外婆家，我便被门前挂的物品所吸引，有驱邪的菖蒲，有似条条绿鞭的艾叶，有如一团团艳火的石榴花，甚至还有一长串蒜头。
我一进门，我的外婆便笑盈盈地迎了上来，她和我交谈了几句后，便请我坐下，让我吃桌上的糕点。我的目光看向了桌面，桌面上摆着清甜软糯的绿豆糕，泛着层层诱人光泽的油糕，还有几个我叫不上名的糕点，但都十分好吃、诱人，我吃着吃着，不经意间看见了厨房里有几个未完工的粽子，我便让我外婆教我包粽子，在我的央求下，外婆见拗不过我，便答应了。外婆先选了一些粽叶，把它们煮上8分钟，这可以让它更容易塑形，然后把它卷成圆锥状，加入泡发好的糯米，接着把馅料用筷子压实，封口，最后缠上麻线，一个粽子就做好了。可是我面临的局面却不太好，不是馅儿漏了，就是线掉了，好不容易我的粽子就包好了，那是一个四处拴着麻线，有许多漏洞的粽子，看起来弱不禁风。我的外婆把粽子放进锅里煮---连同我那一个蹩脚粽子。煮粽子的时间里，我的外婆又用手帕沾了沾有着草木苦香的艾叶汁，擦拭着我的脸和手，她说擦艾叶汁可以防止“五毒”的叮咬，让人一年不生病。擦完不一会儿，午饭时间到了，我家的亲戚陆陆续续围坐在一起。席上，大家欢声笑语，其乐融融。
